Who we are
This website is run by Mill Stone House ("we", "us"), the owner of Mill Stone House. We are the "controller" of the personal information described here under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Address: 30 Radford Street, Stone, Staffordshire
- Email: millstonehouse30@gmail.com
What we collect
When you send a booking request we collect what you type into the form:
- your name and email address
- your phone or WhatsApp number, if you give one
- your dates, number of guests and any message
We do not collect payment details on this website. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as your IP address and the pages requested) for security and fault-finding. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.
Why we use your information
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Replying to your request, confirming availability and price, and arranging your stay | Taking steps at your request before a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) |
| Keeping accounting and tax records for confirmed bookings | Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) |
| Stopping spam and abuse, and keeping the website secure | Our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) |
We do not make decisions about you by automated means, and we do not sell your information or use it for marketing.
Who we share it with
- Our email provider, which delivers your request to us and sends you a copy.
- WhatsApp (Meta Platforms), only if you choose to message us on WhatsApp. WhatsApp then handles your message under its own privacy policy.
- Our website hosting provider, which runs the request form and passes your request to our email provider.
The availability calendar reads dates from our Airbnb calendar. No guest details from this website are sent to Airbnb.
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on safeguards the UK GDPR allows, such as a UK adequacy decision or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Requests that do not lead to a booking: deleted from our records after 12 months.
- Confirmed bookings: kept for 6 years after the end of the tax year, as UK tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or move it to another provider. You can also object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests. Email us at millstonehouse30@gmail.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
